Raising Funds

Our fundraising efforts have been excellent, we have put alot of hard work into the Fundraising and it has paid off.

We kicked off by holding a Table Top Sale in the Village hall, this was well advertised in local papers, Friday Ad and even on the radio, it was well attended and we raised in the region of £400, a good start. We had a great cake stall which raised over £100, Colin and Jan organised this event along with the help of the team.

Sarah came up with a great idea for a Silent Auction, she worked really hard writing off and getting some fabulous donations for the Auction ranging from a Signed England Rugby Shirt to a Toy Ambulance Control Vehicle, all well received, the Auction, along with a Fish and Chip supper went down very well and we raised over £2,000, Sarah, Jen and Malcolm worked very hard to pull this off with great rewards, we purchased our 3rd Defibrillator and bag with the proceeds.

Donations included the grand sum of £1,500 from our Village Doctor.   A very big thank you to our G.P. Dr Adcock, your support is very much appreciated.

We have also had some great donations from Villagers which again has boosted our funds, a big thank you goes out to all the Residents of Alfriston and the surrounding areas who have supported us.

Thanks!!

This Week Joe Marshall Community Defibrillation Officer presented Colin our Co-ordinator with our 4th Defibrillator, this was Given to Alfriston Heartstart by the NHS in conjuction with the British Heart Foundation and the National Lottery.  Many thanks Joe, we are now going to purchase our 4th pack to accompany it, this means we now have 4 Defibs, making our lives easier for covering the Village and surrounding areas.

March Table Top Sale

Another great success for Alfriston Heartstart, a lovely sunny day dawned and this brought out the people, both Villagers (who always support us) and visitors alike.

Our cake stall went down a storm thanks to the hard work of Jill who ran the stall and made loads of lovely sweet and savory items to buy, also Jane who helped out and made some excellent items too, it was great also to see other people make and donate items for this stall, it was a resounding success as ever and the cake stall alone raised over £125 ....... THANK YOU !!

The new idea of serving filled rolls with the tea's, coffee's and home made cakes also went down well, Jan and Sarah made a good team running the kitchen.

Overall a great day with most of the Team helping out though the day.  Thanks to everyone who helped, baked, brought or ate!!! We appreciate it!  Now onto thinking about the next fund raising event................................ :)

New Phones

Many thanks to the Sponsors of our new dedicated Mobile Phones which we have recently purchased.  Chanctonbury Healthcare who have purchased the former White Lodge Hotel in Alfriston to run as a Care Home kindly sponsored us with the grand sum of £1,500, we put the money to good use.
Having a Dedicated Mobile makes life much easier for the Responders as it keeps all calls and Texts from Red Base seperate from our private phones, making communications much easier for all.

Thanks Hilda!

Very special thanks go to Hilda Burton who held a sale of her lovely paintings and raised £300 all of which she donated to Heartstart, thank you so much Hilda, your a star!!!

Donations

Over the summer we also received quite a few generous donations from local people, we would like to say a very big thank you to all of you, you help the team buy much needed equipment for ongoing training .

Feb 2008 Table Top Sale

We got 2008 off to a great start with our Yearly Table Top Sale, another great success rasing over £400, once again Jill and Jane on the cake stall did us proud making some lovely cakes and raising £130 from the cakes alone! Thanks to both of them!

This year we sold some hot food, drinks and snacks, this went down well, Christine and Jan manned the Kitchen this seemed a great success and something we will repeat again next year.

Well done to all the team for their efforts this year, its got us off to a great start!
